The very gay comedian Paul Lynde died on this day in 1982 of a heart attack at the age of 55.
In addition to being the center square on "Hollywood Squares" from 1968-1981, he also played Uncle Arthur in "Bewitched". A notorious drunk, Lynde lost his lover after a drinking binge in which the young man fell from an 8th floor hotel room window in San Francisco in 1965.
