Actor, singer, writer, professional athlete and lawyer Paul Robeson was born today in 1898. At the height of his fame, Robeson decided to become a primarily political artist, and his FBI file became the largest of any entertainer's in history. It is also believed that he was imprisoned by the CIA and given shock treatments to "knock the activism" out of him. Whatever the truth may be, this dude scared the hell out of the governments of several countries.
