SURREAL ESTATE: OUR LOCAL MADOFF'S PAD

San Antonio has a Madoff, as well. And his Monte Vista crib is up for grabs. The Internal Revenue Service will auction the home, valued at $5 million, at noon Sept. 23 to recoup some of the $10 million its previous owner, Andrew Maxwell Parker, obtained by defrauding a government-run bank.
Parker was sentenced in October to nearly 10 years in prison for taking the money from the Export-Import Bank in an exporting-fraud scheme uncovered by the bank, FBI agents and investigators with the IRS' Criminal Investigation division. Recently court proceedings gave the government full ownership of the home, which it had seized, and the green light to auction it.
