Bisexual, reclusive, and incredibly wealthy mostly due to wise real estate investments, Garbo began almost four decades of seclusion when she bought a seven room riverfront apartment in New York in 1953. "I want to be left alone," she said, and pretty much was for the rest of life, which ended in 1990 at the age of 84.
