GUNS FOR GROCERIES

The city of Dallas is hoping the allure of food will help make the city safer as it offers groceries in return for guns.
The Gun Buy Back & Gun Safety event aims to collect as many guns as possible from neighborhood streets. City officials gained nearly 150 firearms with the first buyback event held on Feb. 28.
Each working, unloaded weapon will be exchanged for a $50 grocery card.
The event is scheduled for Aug. 15 at Dallas City Hall.
