Born on this day in 1931, Anne Bancroft (aka Mrs. Mel Brooks) shocked audiences in her 1967 role in "The Graduate" by playing the cougar to cub Dustin Hoffman. She passed away in 2005 from uterine cancer. Here's to you, Mrs. Robinson.

Trivia: the role was initially meant for Doris Day but we're so much happier Bancroft took the role. She is missed.
