WE'RE OUTTA HERE!
We can no longer keep this blog going AND develop our sister blog Can You See My Pussy Now (NSFW) . "Pussy", as a "adult" content site with the appropriate warning label, gives Mess a new sense of freedom, free from self-censoring. WCM has been fun, for sure, but HAS as in HAS BEEN is the operative word. So, for those of you are not easily offended, come visit us at the dirty little sister blog. NINA SIMONE
The legendary musician passed on this day in 2003 at the age of 70. It was revealed after her death that Simone suffered with bi-polar disorder most of her life, explaining her erratic behavior.

DUSTY SPRINGFIELD
Mary Isabel Catherine Bernadette O'Brien was born on this day in 1939. UK's original chunk of white chocolate passed on in 1999 from breast cancer. We've heard there will be a bio-pic one day, and we're putting our bet on Joss Stone to play Dusty. Any opinions from you casting agents out there?

RUTH FERTEL
The New Orleans born Ruth Fertel passed away on this day in 2002 at the age of 75. She entered LSU at 15 to pursue degrees in chemistry and physics and later was the first female horse trainer in Louisiana. As a divorced mother of two she mortgaged her house in 1965 to buy a restaurant she had seen advertised for sale in the classifieds called Chris's Steak House. Our part of Texas is getting hit hard with rain, and we haven't seen the sun in a week. According to the forecast, it should be like this at least until Tuesday, and this is truly putting a damper on San Antonio's annual Fiesta celebrations. CLAUDIA CARDINALE
One of Italy's major film stars, Cardinale turns 72 today. We know her best from films such as 8 1/2, The Pink Panther, and The Leopard. The Tunisian born actress is also an author and activist for women's rights and GLBT rights as well.
