WE'RE OUTTA HERE!
We can no longer keep this blog going AND develop our sister blog Can You See My Pussy Now (NSFW) . "Pussy", as a "adult" content site with the appropriate warning label, gives Mess a new sense of freedom, free from self-censoring. WCM has been fun, for sure, but HAS as in HAS BEEN is the operative word. So, for those of you are not easily offended, come visit us at the dirty little sister blog. For those of you who are easily offended, there are plenty of good therapists in the yellow pages. Best of luck!

SURREAL ESTATE: LESS IS MORE
We always love it when we are purusing San Antonio listings and we see a home that makes us think we are in another MLS - like Los Angeles or New York, perhaps. Not that we're accusing Texas of lagging behind in modern home design, but let's face it - simplicity is often wasted on us. We love our architectural nods to Tuscany or Tudor England or Sunday House or Villa, etc, etc.
So let's take a look at a "modern" home that doesn't sway from it's goal. Check out the builder's link for interior shots and a floor plan (oh, how we long for more floor plans in listings.....)
http://www.virtuosobuilders.com/available.html. The 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath home measures in at 3700 square feet and is listed with Courtney Silver at $465K. http://www.courtneysilver.com/

DUSTY SPRINGFIELD
Mary Isabel Catherine Bernadette O'Brien was born on this day in 1939. UK's original chunk of white chocolate passed on in 1999 from breast cancer. We've heard there will be a bio-pic one day, and we're putting our bet on Joss Stone to play Dusty. Any opinions from you casting agents out there?

RUTH FERTEL
The New Orleans born Ruth Fertel passed away on this day in 2002 at the age of 75. She entered LSU at 15 to pursue degrees in chemistry and physics and later was the first female horse trainer in Louisiana. As a divorced mother of two she mortgaged her house in 1965 to buy a restaurant she had seen advertised for sale in the classifieds called Chris's Steak House. The rest is history. http://ruthschris.com/OurStory
ALL I WANT IS A ROOM SOMEWHERE...
We love the beach and the desert but sometimes we just adore a penthouse view, like this one at the W New York. http://www.starwoodhotels.com/whotels/property/photos/index.html?propertyID=97502
RAIN, RAIN AND MORE DAMN RAIN!
Our part of Texas is getting hit hard with rain, and we haven't seen the sun in a week. According to the forecast, it should be like this at least until Tuesday, and this is truly putting a damper on San Antonio's annual Fiesta celebrations. Well, look on the "bright" side - we should have some really lovely pollen when it dries out!

DON HO
NOTES FROM OUR EDITORIAL BOARD MEETING
Our editorial board (shown above, Mess was taking the picture) met Sunday (after church, of course) and one of the highlights was the decision, rather than to revive the famous from San Antonio section, to do a weekly famous from Texas feature instead. Heck, we're all one big happy Texas state, ain't we? Plus, truth be told, we done run out of local celebs! Watch for it later this week.

A WEEKEND SUGGESTION FROM MESS
We were looking at the trailer for the upcoming movie Sex & The City 2, you know the series that tries to teach straight women how to be gay men, and suddenly craved a fun cocktail. We love our Hush Puppies (Soco and Sprite) but when we're in the mood for something kind of TART (Sorry,Samantha) San Pellegrino Limonata and Absolut Citron rocks our little world.
CHEETA
The "Tarzan" star Cheeta turns 77 today, and he is reportedly one of the longest living chimps on record. He's shown here with a photo of his Tarzan co-star, the late Johnny Weismuller. Like many retired movie stars, he lives in Palm Springs, CA, where he usually can be found nursing on a banana daiquiri at Melvyns.
SURREAL ESTATE: BIG VIEWS, SMALL PRICE
Although Mess would need to be sedated to tackle the notorious Highway 281 on a daily basis, this home in Country Place is our pick of the week for the big view, the pool and spa, and the $349K price tag.The 3 bedroom, two and a half bath hill-hugger comes in at 2,820 square feet and sits on 2.25 acres. Oh, and there are two fireplaces and one's in the master bedroom. That's right cozy! http://www.phyllisbrowning.com/content/PropertyDetail/mdbSingleRes/12930.aspx
